Police respond to bike path robbery | Crime

A bicyclist told Madison police that he was mugged early Monday morning on the bike path near Division Street.

Police said the incident occurred at about 12:15 a.m. when the 26-year-old said he was approached by four teenagers.

The victim told police that one of the teenagers punched him and knocked him to the ground

Once down, the man said all four punched and kicked him. The teens took the man's wallet and phone.

They fled with his wallet and phone.

The victim followed the teens and was able to recover his wallet, minus a personal check that had been inside, police said.
