Georgia man faces charges after waving pellet gun outside bar

Witnesses described a chaotic scene on a porch outside of a bar on Blair Street late Wednesday night.

Police said patrons were sitting outside when a man who had been kicked out of the Up North Pub earlier in the night returned and was waving a handgun.

Somebody shout, "Dude's got a gun," police said.

People began ducking and running, fearing they were about to be shot, police said.

Instead, the man, identified as Joshua P. Turner, 23, left the area, police said.

A short time prior to the incident, he and his girlfriend had been asked to leave the tavern following a minor disturbance, according to bar officials.

Officers were able to find Turner a short time later in the area. They said a pellet gun was found inside the couple's car.
