Foundation for Madison's public schools awards nearly $50,000 in grants | Community Spirit

The Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools has awarded grants totaling $49,208 to schools and educators for the 2012-13 school year.

These funds will support eight unique, staff initiated projects that aim to diversify and improve students' experiences, officials said.

FMPS is proud to announce the following 2012-13 grant recipients:

• Elementary Schools & Special Services Social Work
• The Rainbow Project, UW Dept of Psychiatry & Madison Schools Student Mental Health Collaborative (RUWMS-MHC) $10,000
• Leopold Elementary School Leopold Open Schoolhouse $10,000
• Black Hawk Middle School Middle School Restorative Justice Initiative $6,227
• Mendota Elementary School Powerful Instruction and Interventions: Providing Every Student WIN (What I Need) Time to Ensure Every Student Succeeds Every Day $6,227
• O’Keefe Middle School The Spoken Word Initiative $5,000
• Kennedy Elementary School Walk For Words $5,000
• Nuestro Mundo Community School Parent School Partnership $3,765
• Memorial High School JMM Music Collective $2,989

FMPS has been awarding grants for the last 11 years enabling public school educators to expand and enrich student experiences, promote creativity and help students succeed academically.
